The Fondation Esprit de Corps’ Montreal New York City challenge was completed just one month ago. Despite the rainy weather, over 400 people came together at the old port to support the challenge’s 137 runners and 70 volunteers. Upon completing the 609 km, the runners were given a proper welcome on the Times Square steps by volunteers and tourists. It was a lovely end to a five-month human adventure.
Thanks to all the participants and generous donors, over $200,000 was raised. The money will be used to finance challenge programs for single parents:
• 100 spots for participating in the JM’25 charitable program, a trail race around Mount Royal (registration: http://urlz.fr/26Yy)
• Mount Washington challenges: the foundation will guide several groups of single parents as they reach the Mount Washington summit
• Montreal New York City challenge: spots will be offered to allow single parents to participate in this major challenge.
Part of the money will also go to three associations the foundation supports:
• Ancre des Jeunes: www.ancredesjeunes.org
• DesÉquilibres: www.quebec.desequilibres.org
• Toujours Ensemble: www.toujoursensemble.org
The foundation would like to thank its partners, participants, and donors for making this possible.
